What is .EVENT file extension?

Hidden file created by some Corel applications, including Video Studio and PaintShop Photo Express; created in each folder that is catalogued by the application and contains information that records whether the contents of the folder have been changed over time (e.g., if picture files have been added or removed). You can remove EVENT files, but the Corel software will recreate them the next time the folder is catalogued. NOTE: Filenames for EVENT files use the name of the folder that contains them. For example, a folder named "pictures" would have a hidden event file named pictures.event.
